Police Arrest Suspect In Rash Of Christmas, Lawn Decoration Thefts
Residents have been reunited with their missing decorations, thanks to an alert neighbor who tipped off police.
Officers said the suspect had been stealing items like decorations, lawn furniture and statues from people’s yards since last summer.
Police said the stolen items were located in the front yard of a home on Albert Avenue in Edison.Police said 49-year-old Albert Mota has confessed to the crime.“The weekend before Christmas we had 12 calls of thefts of Christmas decorations,” police said.In all, more than 100 items were stolen from scores of home in the area, police said.
