Blogrush by John Reese

I don’t know if it will work.

By now you will have heard all about BlogRush. (The widget you place on you blog and get credits for everytime someone clicks on it).

Almost every review site I have seen so far has the widget on it. I don’t have the widget on this site at the moment however I have installed it on another blog for testing purposes. I will let you know what happens. I won’t be installing the widget here anytime soon. I want to deliver useful content and see if I can connect with readers without a widget.

From the dozen or so reviews I have read, about Blogrush, these are the interesting aspects that have surfaced:

* The service has been heavily subscribed and the technical difficulties are still being ironed out.
* The keyword competition blocker filter may still need some work
* The links open in an new window
* The categories are not as contextual as they could be
* The widget can cause slow loading of the page
* The credits run to ten tiers - causing some to call it a pyramid scheme
* It is not a pyramid scheme because there is no money
* It is a fantastic way for John Reese to build a list
* It is a great way to get backlinks for John Reese
* John Reese can sell the remaining 10% of traffic to make money
* John Reese is  an excellent marketer with the power to make any release powerful.
* John Reese answers comments about Blogrush when he feels it is worthwhile.
* One guy claims it is old technology and several years behind where it should be….

It remains untested for the moment how many people will keep the widget installed after the first rush subsides. Will the blogrush widgets bring enough traffic?

Will people continue to sign up in a month from now?

Introducing BlogRush “Flavors” - And More News

You’ve asked and we’ve listened!

Introducing, BlogRush Flavors. ( They’ll be acquirable in a few days. )

Over the past few days, I have seen many posts raving and ranting about the release of BlogRush and how great the service is and why it will send a lot of traffic to your site. Since so many blogs have been posting on what the new network is, I will simply blog on what’s been going on with BlogRush and it’s new members. I’ve setup this blog with the service, but was unable to add the widget to the right side of the page since it’s dimensions are larger than the space I have available. I do have the widget running on another site and have seen some traffic running through the exchange. Traffic means everything to a blog, and free traffic is even better… but we all know nothing is free, especially when it’s online! As I’ve been pondering the new BlogRush traffic building service (which I did a first impression review of earlier) over the last few hours I am increasingly thinking that it has potential to help bloggers find new traffic.

We’re about 5 days into the launch of BlogRush and its growth has been nothing short of EXPLOSIVE. We’ve served over 40 MILLION blog headlines (i.e. blog post titles and links to the full post.) And apiece day that passes is serving more than the previous day — it’s truly growing virally.

By now you’ve probably seen write-ups and discussion about BlogRush all over blogs, discussion forums, and in email newsletters. Many have raved about the service while others have been very critical of it. We certainly welcome ALL criticism and feedback, good or bad. It’s the only way we will be healthy to improve the service to help our users generate more targeted traffic to their blogs.

1. Targeted traffic. Unlike traditional traffic sharing schemes, BlogRush matches the headlines in the widget to the content of your blog. This is done using both categorization and proprietary content matching technology.

2. At least it’s not PayPerPost. Services like PayPerPost are there solely to get a link so that the service in question rises up the Google rankings. Google doesn’t like the intent that people can buy their way to the top, and attempts to ignore these paid links. Blogmad better than Blogrush? You decide..

But BlogMad is all about increasing traffic to your blogs. It’s still hush hush for now though. Conceptualized by the guys at Vault9, they promised something innovative for bloggers.

They were also the creators of probably one of the best WP themes out there, the Renovatio v9.

As usual, BlogMad is still in beta but they’re giving away free credits to the first 1,000 subscribers who send out referrals.
